RUPEE GAINS 33 PAISE AGAINST US DOLLAR TO 55.09

Indian rupee gained against the greenback in morning trade on Monday. Rupee was up by 33 paise or 0.60% against USD to Rs 55.09.
Sensex was trading up 152.02 points or 0.91% at 16,870.89 with 29 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 49.75 points or 0.98% at 5,118.10 with 48 components gaining.
In the spot market, the Dollar Index decreased 0.77% to 81.87 (23:53 ET).
Euro - USD was trading at 1.26 up 0.91% while USD - Japanese Yen was trading at 79.60 up 0.15% (23:52 ET).
