SENSEX GAINS OVER 95 PTS; POWER, REALTY, BANKEX RISE

Indian equities continued to rally for the second day on Wednesday. Sensex was trading up 95.51 points or 0.56% at 17,002.09 with 25 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 30.20 points or 0.59% at 5,151.00 with 41 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 69.18 points or 0.41% at 16,975.76, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 28.65 points or 0.56%, at 5,149.45.
Sensex Movers
I C I C I Bank contributed rise of 18.36 points in the Sensex. It was followed by H D F C Bank (12.79 points), Infosys (11.04 points), I T C (8.86 points) and Tata Consultancy Services (7.2 points).
However, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation contributed fall of 7.15 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Tata Motors (5.62 points), Hindustan Unilever (1.37 points), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.01 points) and ACC (0.33 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Tata Power Company (2.67%), NTPC (1.66%), I C I C I Bank (1.58%), Hindalco Industries (1.34%), Tata Steel (1.13%), and G A I L (India) (1.06%).
On the other hand, Tata Motors (1.01%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.01%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.27%), Hindustan Unilever (0.23%), and Bajaj Auto (0.14%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Sectors in Limelight
The Power index was at 1,915.60, up by 23.06 points or by 1.22%. The major gainers were Reliance Infrastructure (2.17%), Adani Power (1.61%), Crompton Greaves (1.26%), A B B (0.91%) and Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.43%).
The Realty index was at 1,641.42, up by 16.47 points or by 1.01%. The major gainers were Indiabulls Real Estate (1.47%), Anant Raj Industries (1.4%), D L F (1.05%), Godrej Properties (0.73%) and D B Realty (0.42%).
The Bankex index was at 11,617.14, up by 114.71 points or by 1.00%. The major gainers were Bank Of Baroda(1.11%), H D F C Bank (1.06%), Canara Bank (1.06%), Bank Of India (0.77%) and Federal Bank (0.71%).
On the other hand, the Auto index was at 9,297.56, down by 21.97 points or by 0.24%. The major losers were Tata Motors (1.01%), Bosch (0.39%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.27%) and Bajaj Auto (0.14%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was negative with 1,158 advances against 568 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
Container Corporation Of India topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 178.83 million. It was followed by State Bank Of India (Rs. 153.82 million), Housing Development and Infrastructure (Rs. 124.30 million) and Kotak Mahindra Bank (Rs. 97.35 million).
The volume chart was led by Manappuram Finance with trades of over 2.68 million shares. It was followed by Kingfisher Airlines (2.09 million), Housing Development and Infrastructure (1.45 million) and Sybly Industries (1.19 million).
