NSE NIFTY LIVE TIPS 23 APR 2012


SENSEX FLAT WITH POSITIVE BIAS AT OPEN

Indian markets continued to drop in early trade for the second day on Monday. The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a decline of 26.08 points or 0.15% at 17,347.76, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a fall of 13.45 points or 0.25%, at 5,277.40.
Sensex was trading up 24.21 points or 0.14% at 17,398.05 with 16 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 7.75 points or 0.15% at 5,298.60 with 28 components gaining.
Sensex Movers
Reliance Industries contributed rise of 9.09 points in the Sensex. It was followed by State Bank Of India (3.58 points), Tata Motors (3.3 points), Mahindra & Mahindra (2.31 points) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.87 points).
However, Infosys contributed fall of 13.16 points in the Sensex. It was followed by I T C (5.12 points), Housing Development Finance Corporation (4 points), NTPC (2.51 points) and D L F (1.48 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Cipla (0.93%), Maruti Suzuki India (0.81%), Hero Honda Motors (0.64%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.64%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.60%), and Reliance Industries (0.55%).
On the other hand, D L F (1.44%), Jindal Steel & Power (1.35%), Infosys Technologies (0.92%), NTPC (0.76%), Wipro (0.47%), and Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.33%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Sectors in Limelight
The Consumer Durables index was at 6,711.21, up by 24.57 points or by 0.37%. The major gainers were Bajaj Electricals (2.36%), Gitanjali Gems (1.28%), Titan Industries (1.07%), V I P Industries (0.64%) and T T K Prestige (0.17%).
The FMCG index was at 4,816.75, up by 12.07 points or by 0.25%. The major gainers were Godrej Consumer Products (1%), Jubilant FoodWorks (0.74%), United Breweries (0.44%), Dabur India (0.22%) and Nestle India (0.16%).
The Bankex index was at 12,074.94, up by 25.04 points or by 0.21%. The major gainers were IDBI Bank (2.41%), Canara Bank (0.39%), Bank Of Baroda (0.37%), Indusind Bank (0.17%) and H D F C Bank (0.07%).
On the other hand, the Realty index was at 1,757.10, down by 13.48 points or by 0.76%. The major losers were Sobha Developers (1.73%), D L F (1.44%), Godrej Properties (1.06%) and Sunteck Realty (0.18%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was negative with 592 advances against 308 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
Intellivate Capital Ventures -PPS topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 0.00 million. It was followed by Reliance Industries (Rs. 52.85 million), State Bank Of India (Rs. 42.77 million) and Spicejet (Rs. 19.59 million).
The volume chart was led by Shri Ganesh Spinners with trades of over 0.83 million shares. It was followed by Spicejet (0.60 million), Kingfisher Airlines (0.33 million) and GVK Power & Infrastructure (0.19 million).
