SENSEX GAINS 0.4%; HUL, ITC LEAD

Indian equities continue to trade marginally higher on Friday. The Sensex was trading up 66.71 points or 0.39% at 17,263.18 with 18 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 19.25 points or 0.37% at 5,247.70 with 29 components gaining. www.goldennifty.com
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 61.25 points or 0.36% at 17,257.72, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 27.20 points or 0.52%, at 5,255.65. www.goldennifty.com
Sensex Movers
I T C contributed rise of 27.55 points in the Sensex. It was followed by H D F C Bank (14.85 points), Infosys (14.58 points), Hindustan Unilever (11.36 points) and Reliance Industries (11.23 points). www.goldennifty.com
However, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation contributed fall of 11.07 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Maruti Suzuki India (6.6 points), Hindalco Industries (4.61 points), State Bank Of India (4.41 points) and Tata Steel (3.68 points). www.goldennifty.com
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Hindustan Unilever (2.29%), I T C (1.98%), H D F C Bank (1.32%), Tata Consultancy Services (1.19%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.13%), and Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.90%). www.goldennifty.com
On the other hand, Maruti Suzuki India (2.81%), Hindalco Industries (2.07%), Bajaj Auto (1.95%), Coal India (1.95%), Sterlite Industries (India) (1.80%), and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.61%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
