Sensex trades flat; HUL, Bharti Airtel, M&M major losers

Indian equities continued to gain for the sixth day on Tuesday. At 10.05 am., the Sensex was trading up 27.60 points or 0.16% at 17,734.91 with 15 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 8.95 points or 0.17% at 5,370.60 with 25 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 106.43 points or 0.60% at 17,813.74, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 51.30 points or 0.96%, at 5,412.95.
Reliance Industries contributed rise of 27.14 points in the Sensex. It was followed by I T C (9.82 points), Tata Consultancy Services (8.45 points), H D F C Bank (5.88 points) and I C I C I Bank (5.55 points).
However, Bharti Airtel contributed fall of 10.67 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Hindustan Unilever (9.88 points), Housing Development Finance Corporation (6.53 points), Mahindra & Mahindra (4.44 points) and Larsen & Toubro (3.79 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Hero Honda Motors (1.65%), Reliance Industries (1.48%), Tata Consultancy Services (1.04%), Tata Power Company (1.02%), Jindal Steel & Power (0.90%), and Wipro (0.88%).
On the other hand, Hindustan Unilever (1.89%), Bharti Airtel (1.72%), Mahindra & Mahindra (1.11%), D L F (1.00%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.94%), and Maruti Suzuki India (0.85%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
