SENSEX FALLS 54 PTS IN EARLY TRADE

Indian markets continued to decline in early trade for the second day on Tuesday. The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a decline of 97.50 points or 0.58% at 16,570.51, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a fall of 38.60 points or 0.76%, at 5,015.50.
Sensex was trading down 54.07 points or 0.32% at 16,613.94 with 24 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 15.00 points or 0.30% at 5,039.10 with 45 components falling.
Sensex Movers
I C I C I Bank contributed fall of 10.6 points in the Sensex. It was followed by State Bank Of India (8.1 points), Reliance Industries (8.01 points), Larsen & Toubro (5.94 points) and I T C (5.79 points).
However, H D F C Bank contributed rise of 6.38 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (3.18 points), Infosys (1.86 points), Tata Power Company (0.77 points) and Reliance Communications (0.32 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Bajaj Auto (0.71%), H D F C Bank (0.54%), Coal India (0.51%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.49%), Tata Power Company (0.42%), and Infosys Technologies (0.13%).
On the other hand, Dr Reddy`s Laboratories (1.21%), State Bank Of India (1.18%), Wipro (1.09%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.09%), I C I C I Bank (0.94%), and NTPC (0.87%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts declining-0.19% and -0.01% respectively.

The major losers in the BSE Midcap were Aban Offshore (1.76%), Anant Raj Industries (0.81%), CORE Education and Technologies (0.54%), Alstom Projects India (0.48%) and Alok Industries (0.27%).

The major losers in the BSE Smallcap were Reliance MediaWorks (1.72%), Andhra Petrochemicals (1.53%), A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (0.97%), Ajanta Pharma (0.84%) and Genesys International Corporation (0.11%).
Sectors in Limelight
The Metal index was at 10,236.72, down by 59.62 points or by 0.58%. The major losers were JSW Steel (1.54%), Bhushan Steel (0.84%), Jindal Steel & Power (0.83%), Hindustan Zinc (0.72%) and Hindalco Industries (0.71%).
The Capital Goods index was at 9,276.82, down by 52.94 points or by 0.57%. The major losers were BEML (1.98%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.09%), Crompton Greaves (0.9%), A B B (0.77%) and Alstom Projects India (0.48%).
The Power index was at 1,865.77, down by 10.51 points or by 0.56%. The major losers were Reliance Infrastructure (1.21%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.09%), Adani Power (0.94%), Crompton Greaves (0.9%) and A B B (0.77%).
On the other hand, the Consumer Durables index was at 6,106.17, up by 14.66 points or by 0.24%. The major gainers were C.Mahendra Exports (1.49%), Bajaj Electricals (0.56%), Titan Industries (0.42%), Gitanjali Gems (0.15%) and Rajesh Exports (0.08%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was negative with 248 advances against 489 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
State Bank Of India topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 53.45 million. It was followed by Larsen & Toubro (Rs. 11.78 million), Reliance Infrastructure (Rs. 11.42 million) and Housing Development and Infrastructure (Rs. 9.82 million).
The volume chart was led by Suzlon Energy with trades of over 0.38 million shares. It was followed by Kingfisher Airlines (0.34 million), GVK Power & Infrastructure (0.21 million) and Spicejet (0.19 million).
