SENSEX RISES IN EARLY TRADE

Indian equities continued to rally in early trade for the third day on Wednesday. The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 89.32 points or 0.51% at 17,447.26, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 31.00 points or 0.59%, at 5,320.70.
Sensex was trading up 115.85 points or 0.67% at 17,473.79 with 29 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 44.10 points or 0.83% at 5,333.80 with 48 components gaining.
Sensex Movers
Reliance Industries contributed rise of 12.38 points in the Sensex. It was followed by H D F C Bank (11.65 points), Tata Motors (11.56 points), I C I C I Bank (11.38 points) and State Bank of India (10.4 points).
However, Infosys contributed fall of 2.25 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Jaiprakash Associates (0.29 points), Reliance Communications (0.39 points), NTPC (0.4 points) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.51 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were G A I L (India) (2.07%), Tata Motors (1.87%), Wipro (1.50%), Bajaj Auto (1.41%), Sterlite Industries (India) (1.38%), and Hindalco Industries (1.33%).
On the other hand, and Infosys Technologies (0.16%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Mid and small caps underperformed their larger counterparts gaining 0.62% and 0.48% respectively.
The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were A B G Shipyard (2.19%), CORE Education and Technologies (1.28%), Alok Industries (1.27%), Alstom Projects India (1.25%) and Aban Offshore (0.61%).
The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were Adhunik Metaliks (1.46%), Reliance MediaWorks (1.41%), Advanta India (0.77%), A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (0.69%) and Aarti Industries (0.45%).
The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were A B G Shipyard (2.19%), CORE Education and Technologies (1.28%), Alok Industries (1.27%), Alstom Projects India (1.25%) and Aban Offshore (0.61%).
The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were Adhunik Metaliks (1.46%), Reliance MediaWorks (1.41%), Advanta India (0.77%), A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (0.69%) and Aarti Industries (0.45%).
Sectors in Limelight
The Realty index was at 1,844.84, up by 20.51 points or by 1.12%. The major gainers were Housing Development and Infrastructure (1.94%), Godrej Properties (1.56%), Anant Raj Industries (0.78%), D L F (0.68%) and D B Realty (0.39%).
The Metal index was at 11,301.84, up by 123.00 points or by 1.10%. The major gainers were Hindalco Industries (1.33%), Bhushan Steel (0.96%), Jindal Steel & Power (0.88%), Hindustan Zinc (0.84%) and Coal India (0.71%).
The Auto index was at 10,483.89, up by 112.36 points or by 1.08%. The major gainers were Bajaj Auto (1.41%), Hero Motocorp (0.6%), Ashok Leyland (0.51%), Exide Industries (0.4%) and Bharat Forge (0.19%).
The Bankex index was at 12,244.98, up by 121.14 points or by 1.00%. The major gainers were Federal Bank (1.2%), Bank Of Baroda (1.04%), H D F C Bank (0.96%), Bank Of India (0.57%) and Canara Bank (0.49%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was negative with 664 advances against 147 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
Intellivate Capital Ventures - PPS topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 0.00 million. It was followed by State Bank Of India (Rs. 73.26 million), Tata Motors (Rs. 39.33 million) and H C L Technologies (Rs. 34.84 million).
The volume chart was led by Cals Refineries with trades of over 1.06 million shares. It was followed by Spicejet (0.52 million), Vikas Wsp (0.30 million) and Housing Development and Infrastructure (0.22 million).
