SENSEX GAINS OVER
100 PTS; REALTY, CD & BANKEX RISE

Indian markets bounced back on Tuesday snapping earlier losses. Sensex was trading up
102.03 points or 0.59% at 17,501.01 with 24 components gaining. Meanwhile, the
Nifty was trading higher by 28.10 points or 0.53% at 5,306.70 with 39
components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 58.97
points or 0.34% at 17,457.95, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a
rise of 20.25 points or 0.38%, at 5,298.85.
Sensex Movers
I C I C I Bank contributed rise of 20.3 points in the Sensex. It was
followed by Bharti Airtel (16.23 points), Housing Development
Finance Corporation (11.17 points), Larsen & Toubro
(8.23 points) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (8.1 points).
However, Tata Consultancy Services contributed fall of 10.55 points in the
Sensex. It was followed by Infosys (7.59 points), Grasim Industries (2.02
points), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.36 points) and ACC (1.15 points).
Major gainers in the 30-share index were Bharti Airtel (3.37%), G A I L
(India) (2.03%), Dr Reddy`S Laboratories (1.79%), I C I
C I Bank (1.65%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (1.12%), and Maruti Suzuki
India (0.98%).
On the other hand, Tata Consultancy Services (1.19%), Bharat Heavy
Electricals (0.57%), Infosys Technologies (0.52%), I T C (0.04%), Jindal Steel
& Power (0.03%), and Hindustan Unilever (0.01%) were the major losers in
the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts gaining
0.74% and 0.76% respectively.
The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were Aban Offshore (0.82%), Amtek Auto (0.79%), Alok Industries (0.56%), Alstom Projects India (0.54%) and CORE Education and Technologies (0.3%).
The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were Reliance MediaWorks (2.57%), Aarti Industries (1.65%), Adhunik Metaliks (1.5%), Action Construction Equipment (0.5%) and Aanjaneya Lifecare (0.24%).
The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were Aban Offshore (0.82%), Amtek Auto (0.79%), Alok Industries (0.56%), Alstom Projects India (0.54%) and CORE Education and Technologies (0.3%).
The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were Reliance MediaWorks (2.57%), Aarti Industries (1.65%), Adhunik Metaliks (1.5%), Action Construction Equipment (0.5%) and Aanjaneya Lifecare (0.24%).
Sectors in Limelight
The Realty index was at 1,734.97, up by 28.36 points or by 1.66%. The
major gainers were Godrej Properties (6.43%), D B Realty (2.95%), D L F
(2.17%), Anant Raj Industries (0.95%) and Indiabulls Real Estate (0.4%).
The Consumer Durables index was at 6,378.13, up by 92.48 points or by
1.47%. The major gainers were Rajesh Exports (1.54%), Titan Industries (1.53%),
Bajaj Electricals (1.52%), Gitanjali Gems (0.46%) and Whirlpool Of India
(0.45%).
The Bankex index was at 12,112.84, up by 125.17 points or by 1.04%. The
major gainers were I C I C I Bank (1.65%), Bank Of India (1.59%), Canara Bank
(0.99%), Bank Of Baroda (0.78%) and H D F C Bank
(0.53%).
On the other hand, the IT index was at 5,734.16, down by 15.32 points or
by 0.27%. The major losers were Tata Consultancy Services (1.19%), Oracle Financial Services Software (0.64%), Infosys (0.52%) and Tech
Mahindra (0.11%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was negative with 1,263 advances against 575
declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
State Bank Of India topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover
of Rs. 136.20 million. It was followed by I C I C I Bank (Rs. 103.21 million),
Jai Corp (Rs. 90.43 million) and Adani Enterprises (Rs. 89.48 million).
The volume chart was led by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision with trades of over 2.64 million shares. It was followed by Lanco
Infratech (2.11 million), Jai Corp (1.46 million) and JM
Financial (1.41 million).
