NIKKEI INCHES UP AS CHINA GDP DATA LENDS SUPPORT

TOKYO: Japan's Nikkei share
average edged up on Friday to snap a six-session losing streak, its longest
since early April, after Chinese data matched expectations and eased fears of a
sharper slowdown in the world's growth centre.
The Nikkei rose 0.1 percent to 8,724.12, but the broader Topix index dipped 0.2 percent to 746.34.
