IN INTRADAY TRADING TIPS 18 JUL 2012


SENSEX FLAT WITH NEGATIVE BIAS; AUTO & CAPITAL GOODS FALL

Indian equities were trading marginally lower on Wednesday.   Sensex was trading down 27.95 points or 0.16% at 17,077.35 with 20 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 10.20 points or 0.20% at 5,182.65 with 36 components falling.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened flat with a rise of 8.07 points or 0.05% at 17,113.37, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 6.25 points or 0.12%, at 5,199.10.
Sensex Movers
Tata Motors contributed fall of 8.91 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Reliance Industries (8.11 points), Larsen & Toubro (7.77 points), Mahindra & Mahindra (7.63 points) and State Bank Of India (5.87 points).
However, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation contributed rise of 7.04 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Housing Development Finance Corporation (4.82 points), I C I C I Bank (3.99 points), Infosys (3.6 points) and Tata Power Company (1.8 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Coal India (1.62%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.99%), Tata Power Company (0.94%), Wipro (0.68%), Housing Development Finance Corporation (0.41%), and Sterlite Industries (India) (0.40%).
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra (1.97%), Tata Motors (1.70%), Hero Honda Motors (1.58%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.44%), G A I L (India) (0.97%), and State Bank Of India (0.86%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Midcap index was at 6141.67 down by 16.57 points or by 0.27%.

The major losers were Aban Offshore (1.67%), Amtek Auto (0.86%), Alstom India (0.7%), Amara Raja Batteries (0.51%) and Alok Industries (0.29%).
The BSE Smallcap index was at 6630.06 down by 8.04 points or by 0.12%.

The major losers were A B G Infralogistics (2.13%), Action Construction Equipment (1.22%), Trident (0.84%), A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (0.69%) and Styrolution ABS (India) (0.14%).
Sectors in Limelight
The Auto index was at 9,009.97, down by 115.77 points or by 1.27%. The major losers were Hero Motocorp (1.58%), Exide Industries (1.02%), Bajaj Auto (0.84%), Ashok Leyland (0.63%) and Bharat Forge (0.61%).
The Capital Goods index was at 9,793.69, down by 79.29 points or by 0.8%. The major losers were Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.44%), A B B (1.02%), Alstom India (0.7%), BEML (0.27%) and Bharat Electronics (0.26%).
The Consumer Durables index was at 6,251.70, down by 43.32 points or by 0.69%. The major losers were Rajesh Exports (3.11%), C.Mahendra Exports (0.99%), Whirlpool Of India (0.34%), Bajaj Electricals (0.31%) and Blue Star (0.03%).
On the other hand, the Metal index was at 10,431.27, up by 17.62 points or by 0.17%. The major gainers were Coal India (1.62%), Sesa Goa (0.89%), Sterlite Industries (India) (0.4%), Tata Steel (0.2%) and Steel Authority Of India (0.05%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was negative with 757 advances against 1,021 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
Hindustan Unilever topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 4,055.81 million. It was followed by Future Ventures India (Rs. 639.54 million), Adani Enterprises (Rs. 171.20 million) and State Bank Of India (Rs. 143.05 million).
The volume chart was led by Future Ventures India with trades of over 70.13 million shares. It was followed by Hindustan Unilever (9.13 million), Adani Enterprises (0.91 million) and Lanco Infratech (0.84 million).
