SENSEX GAINS OVER 105 PTS; SBI MOST ACTIVE

Indian markets bounced back on Monday snapping earlier losses. Sensex was trading up 105.94 points or 0.62% at 17,078.45 with 28 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 34.85 points or 0.68% at 5,180.90 with 43 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 66.26 points or 0.39% at 17,038.77, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 12.45 points or 0.24%, at 5,158.50.
Sensex Movers
I C I C I Bank contributed rise of 17.62 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Reliance Industries (13.14 points), State Bank Of India (10.1 points), Larsen & Toubro (7.26 points) and Housing Development Finance Corporation (7.18 points).
However, Infosys contributed fall of 5.5 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Grasim Industries (0.9 points), Tata Consultancy Services (0 points), Hindustan Unilever (0.13 points) and Wipro (0.4 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Jindal Steel & Power (1.79%), Tata Power Company (1.69%), Maruti Suzuki India (1.69%), I C I C I Bank (1.52%), State Bank Of India (1.45%), and Coal India (1.38%).
On the other hand, and Infosys Technologies (0.38%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts gaining 0.93% and 0.90% respectively.
The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were Alstom Projects India (1.82%), A I A Engineering (0.96%), Aban Offshore (0.8%), Allcargo Logistics (0.72%) and CORE Education and Technologies (0.5%).
The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were Trident (2.7%), A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (1.17%), Aanjaneya Lifecare (0.84%), Styrolution ABS (India) (0.53%) and Aarti Industries (0.07%).
The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were Alstom Projects India (1.82%), A I A Engineering (0.96%), Aban Offshore (0.8%), Allcargo Logistics (0.72%) and CORE Education and Technologies (0.5%).
The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were Trident (2.7%), A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (1.17%), Aanjaneya Lifecare (0.84%), Styrolution ABS (India) (0.53%) and Aarti Industries (0.07%).
Sectors in Limelight
The IPO index was at 1,481.75, up by 19.86 points or by 1.36%. The major gainers were Ashoka Buildcon (2.14%), BS TransComm (1.53%), Claris Lifesciences (1.49%), Bajaj Corp (1.13%) and Career Point (1.04%).
The Realty index was at 1,652.50, up by 21.63 points or by 1.33%. The major gainers were Housing Development and Infrastructure (2.87%), D B Realty (2.11%), D L F (1.42%), Indiabulls Real Estate (0.68%) and Godrej Properties (0.68%).
The Bankex index was at 11,702.37, up by 141.32 points or by 1.22%. The major gainers were Bank Of India(1.83%), Bank Of Baroda (1.56%), Federal Bank (1.49%), Canara Bank (0.88%) and H D F C Bank (0.52%).
On the other hand, the IT index was at 5,660.41, down by 3.28 points or by 0.06%. The major losers were Infosys (0.38%) and H C L Technologies (0.03%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was negative with 1,330 advances against 482 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
State Bank Of India topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 342.56 million. It was followed by Housing Development and Infrastructure (Rs. 144.24 million), Godrej Consumer Products (Rs. 112.62 million) and HT Media (Rs. 99.80 million).
The volume chart was led by Saint-Gobain Sekurit India with trades of over 2.01 million shares. It was followed by Housing Development and Infrastructure (1.71 million), Suzlon Energy (1.67 million) and GVK Power & Infrastructure (1.38 million).
