TRADES DOWN 182 POINTS; DLF, GAIL & STERLITE FALL

Indian markets
continued to drop for the fourth day on Monday. Sensex was trading down 181.53 points or 1.14%
at 15,783.63 with 27 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower
by 60.25 points or 1.24% at 4,781.35 with 48 components falling.
The 30-share benchmark
index, BSE Sensex opened with a decline of 156.28 points or 0.98% at 15,808.88,
while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a fall of 44.30 points or 0.91%,
at 4,797.30.
Sensex Movers
Infosys contributed
fall of 21.46 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Tata Consultancy Services
(16.78 points), I T C (16.3 points), Reliance Industries (14.15 points) and
State Bank Of India (13.29 points).
However, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation contributed rise of 4.28 points in
the Sensex. It was followed by Hero Motocorp (2.16 points), Tata Motors (1.02
points), Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.97 points) and Mahindra & Mahindra
(1.29 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Hero Honda Motors (0.99%),
Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.69%), and Tata Motors (0.18%).
On the other hand, D L
F (4.74%), G A I L (India) (2.92%), Sterlite Industries (India) (2.41%), Jindal
Steel & Power (2.32%), Hindalco Industries (2.28%), and State Bank Of India
(2.19%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap
Space
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts
declining-1.14% and -0.62% respectively.
The major losers in the BSE Midcap were Amara Raja Batteries (2.5%), Alok Industries (2.44%), Alstom Projects India (2.4%), Aban Offshore (1.34%) and A B G Shipyard (0.39%).
The major losers in the BSE Smallcap were Aanjaneya Lifecare (2.88%), A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (2.08%), Aarti Industries (1.2%), A B G Infralogistics (0.5%) and Trident (0.21%).
The major losers in the BSE Midcap were Amara Raja Batteries (2.5%), Alok Industries (2.44%), Alstom Projects India (2.4%), Aban Offshore (1.34%) and A B G Shipyard (0.39%).
The major losers in the BSE Smallcap were Aanjaneya Lifecare (2.88%), A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (2.08%), Aarti Industries (1.2%), A B G Infralogistics (0.5%) and Trident (0.21%).

The Consumer Durables
index was at 5,999.33, down by 156.43 points or by 2.54%. The major losers were
Bajaj Electricals (4.2%), Titan Industries (3.99%), C.Mahendra Exports (1.27%), Blue Star (0.95%) and Rajesh Exports
(0.73%).
The Realty index was
at 1,513.68, down by 39.02 points or by 2.51%. The major losers were D B Realty
(5.12%), D L F (4.74%), Housing Development and
Infrastructure (2.67%), Anant Raj Industries (0.76%) and Sobha Developers (0.09%).
The Metal index was at
9,754.11, down by 180.75 points or by 1.82%. The major losers were Jindal Steel
& Power (2.32%), Hindalco Industries (2.28%), Bhushan Steel (1.64%),
Hindustan Zinc (1.54%) and Coal India (1.18%).
The IT index was at
5,464.63, down by 87.64 points or by 1.58%. The major losers were Infosys
(1.58%), H C L Technologies (1.56%), Hexaware Technologies (1.39%), Oracle
Financial Services Software (1%) and Mphasis (0.5%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was negative with 708 advances against 1,221
declines.
Value and Volume
Toppers
Indraprastha Gas
topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 334.19 million. It was
followed by Tata Motors (Rs. 195.33 million), State Bank Of India (Rs. 184.30
million) and Wockhardt (Rs. 136.59 million).
The volume chart was
led by Suzlon Energy with trades of over 1.51 million shares. It was followed
by Indraprastha Gas (1.32 million), Kingfisher Airlines (1.01 million) and
Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision (1.01 million).
