IN INTRADAY CASH TIPS 28 JUN 2012


SENSEX GAINS 50 POINTS; POWER, CG, METAL RISE
DATE: 28/06/2012       
Indian markets still trading in the positive terrain amid volatility due to F&O expiry and short covering positions by speculators. Power, capital goods and metals stocks led the advance.
Sensex was trading up 47.59 points or 0.28% at 17,015.35 with 21 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 14.35 points or 0.28% at 5,156.25 with 34 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 17.82 points or 0.11% at 16,985.58, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 7.05 points or 0.14%, at 5,148.95.
Sensex Movers
Infosys contributed rise of 13.59 points in the Sensex. It was followed by I T C (12.45 points), I C I C I Bank (8.26 points), NTPC (4.71 points) and Larsen & Toubro (3.67 points).
However, Tata Motors contributed fall of 6.61 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Tata Consultancy Services (3.27 points), Hindustan Unilever (2.86 points), State Bank Of India (2.08 points) and H D F C Bank (0.88 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were NTPC (1.58%), Tata Power Company (1.54%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.95%), Infosys Technologies (0.95%), Mahindra & Mahindra (0.79%), and I T C (0.77%).
On the other hand, Tata Motors (1.19%), G A I L (India) (0.79%), Hindustan Unilever (0.49%), Tata Consultancy Services (0.38%), State Bank Of India (0.30%), and Bajaj Auto (0.20%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts gaining 0.52% and 0.49% respectively.

The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were A I A Engineering (3.41%), Amara Raja Batteries (1.66%), Alok Industries (0.56%), CORE Education and Technologies (0.5%) and Alstom Projects India (0.14%).

The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were Reliance MediaWorks (1.48%), Action Construction Equipment (0.86%), Styrolution ABS (India) (0.61%), A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (0.43%) and Trident (0.31%).
Sectors in Limelight
The Power index was at 1,929.24, up by 17.25 points or by 0.90%. The major gainers were Adani Power (1.26%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.95%), G M R Infrastructure (0.89%), A B B (0.59%) and Crompton Greaves (0.58%).
The IPO index was at 1,488.12, up by 10.86 points or by 0.74%. The major gainers were Career Point (2.85%), Claris Lifesciences (0.96%), Bedmutha Industries (0.94%), Coal India (0.76%) and Bajaj Corp (0.67%).
The Capital Goods index was at 9,741.93, up by 53.35 points or by 0.55%. The major gainers were A I A Engineering (3.41%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.95%), A B B (0.59%), Alstom Projects India (0.14%) and BEML (0.11%).
On the other hand, the Realty index was at 1,626.50, down by 3.07 points or by 0.19%. The major losers were Prestige Estates Projects (2.27%), D B Realty (0.99%), Phoenix Mills (0.86%), Parsvnath Developers (0.41%) and D L F (0.08%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was negative with 1,378 advances against 958 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
Axis Bank topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 22,501.31 million. It was followed by State Bank Of India (Rs. 262.28 million), A B G Shipyard (Rs. 223.18 million) and Yes Bank (Rs. 147.77 million).
The volume chart was led by Axis Bank with trades of over 23.18 million shares. It was followed by Manappuram Finance (2.56 million), JM Financial (2.52 million) and Suzlon Energy (2.44 million).
