CURRENCY FUTURES FOR MAY EXPIRY TRADES WITH 2.89% GAIN IN OI

The partially convertible rupee was currently trading at 52.79/80, weaker compared to its Monday’s close at 52.74. The rupee opened at 52.65 and has touched a high and low of 52.82 and 52.60 respectively.
The May currency future was trading at 53.09/10 with a spread of 0.0025 and a volume of 426,014. The contract opened stronger at 52.93/94 against its previous closing of 53.03/04. The open interest (OI) stood at 1,750,356 up by 2.89% compared to its previous close of 1,701,152.
The rupee had closed at 52.74 on Monday, while the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) reference rate was at 52.51/52 for Monday.
