Sensex turns positive; Tata Power, Jindal Steel surge

Indian markets shed all its losses and moved up into the positive terrain on some buying activity seen in select frontliners. Auto, metals and capital goods were leading the sectoral space.
At 2.11 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 28.30 points or 0.16% at 17,221.85 with 18 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 15.95 points or 0.31% at 5,183.30 with 20 components falling.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened flat with a decline of 13.91 points or 0.08% at 17,179.64, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a fall of 1.10 points or 0.02%, at 5,198.15.
Sensex Movers
Reliance Industries contributed rise of 19.07 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Larsen & Toubro (18.49 points), Tata Power Company (10.82 points), Tata Motors (10.18 points) and Tata Steel (8.87 points).
However, I C I C I Bank contributed fall of 22.86 points in the Sensex. It was followed by I T C (15.71 points), Housing Development Finance Corporation (14.81 points), Infosys (13.05 points) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (11.57 points).
