Sensex shed some gains; SBI, DLF, Sterlite rally

Indian equities shed some of its gains in noon trade on Monday. Realty, capital goods and metal stocks gained ground except oil & gas, which edged lower.
At 12.01 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 100.56 points or 0.57% at 17,705.52 with 22 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 28.95 points or 0.54% at 5,354.80 with 37 components gaining.

The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 136.95 points or 0.78% at 17,741.91, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 56.75 points or 1.07%, at 5,382.60.
Sensex Movers
State Bank Of India contributed rise of 21.31 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Larsen & Toubro (20.39 points), I C I C I Bank (15.54 points), Tata Consultancy Services (11.99 points) and Bharat Heavy Electricals (6.27 points).
However, Reliance Industries contributed fall of 10.69 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Tata Power Company (5.96 points), H D F C Bank (5.1 points), NTPC (3.33 points) and Infosys (2.31 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were State Bank Of India (2.94%), D L F (2.87%), Sterlite Industries (India) (2.53%), Hindalco Industries (2.26%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (2.16%), and Larsen & Toubro (2.16%).
On the other hand, Tata Power Company (2.76%), NTPC (0.94%), G A I L (India) (0.70%), Reliance Industries (0.58%), H D F C Bank (0.45%), and Wipro (0.19%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
