Sensex flat with negative bias; M&M, Hero Honda drop
The Sensex is trading on a flat note with negative bias despite positive Asian peers. Consumer durables, PSU and capital goods stocks witnessed profit booking.
At 10 a.m., the Sensex was trading down 22.72 points or 0.14% at 15,916.64 with 19 components falling. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading lower by 13.50 points or 0.28% at 4,751.80 with 35 components falling.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 28.13 points or 0.18% at 15,967.49, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 9.65 points or 0.20%, at 4,774.95.

Sensex Movers
Bharti Airtel contributed fall of 11.27 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Mahindra & Mahindra (10.07 points), H D F C Bank (9.78 points), Hindustan Unilever (8.08 points) and Reliance Industries (7.79 points).
However, I C I C I Bank contributed rise of 18.32 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Bharat Heavy Electricals (9.05 points), Tata Motors (7.98 points), Larsen & Toubro (7.44 points) and Wipro (3.98 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Bharat Heavy Electricals (3.51%), Tata Motors (2.11%), I C I C I Bank (1.87%), Sterlite Industries (India) (1.53%), Wipro (1.28%), and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.28%). http://www.goldennifty.com
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra (2.65%), Hero Honda Motors (2.53%), Bajaj Auto (2.12%), Bharti Airtel (2.01%), Hindustan Unilever (1.52%), and Tata Power Company (1.51%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts gaining 0.41% and 0.37% respectively.

The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were Aban Offshore (0.91%), A I A Engineering (0.71%), Amtek Auto (0.67%), Amara Raja Batteries (0.5%) and Alstom Projects India (0.18%).

The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were Advanta India (1.47%), Reliance MediaWorks (1.06%), INEOS ABS (India) (0.68%), Aarti Industries (0.1%) and A B G Infralogistics (0.09%).
Sectors in Limelight
The Consumer Durables index was at 5,529.25, up by 82.51 points or by 1.51%. The major gainers were C.Mahendra Exports (2.6%), Bajaj Electricals (2.03%), Blue Star (1.77%), Gitanjali Gems (0.51%) and Whirlpool Of India (0.03%).
The PSU index was at 6,710.04, up by 93.43 points or by 1.41%. The major gainers were Balmer Lawrie & Company (3.2%), Bank Of Maharashtra (2.96%), Allahabad Bank (1.33%), Bank Of Baroda (1.17%) and Bank Of India (0.31%).
The Capital Goods index was at 8,570.89, up by 112.25 points or by 1.33%. The major gainers were Bharat Heavy Electricals (3.51%), BEML (1.52%), BGR Energy Systems (1.43%), A B B (1.35%) and Alstom Projects India (0.18%).
On the other hand, the Auto index was at 8,142.92, down by 58.06 points or by 0.71%. The major losers were Mahindra & Mahindra (2.65%), Hero Motocorp (2.53%), Bajaj Auto (2.12%), Bharat Forge (1.89%) and Cummins India (0.62%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was positive with 1,025 advances against 670 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
M M T C topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 480.95 million. It was followed by Hindustan Copper (Rs. 305.51 million), State Bank Of India (Rs. 175.29 million) and Reliance Industries (Rs. 148.37 million).
The volume chart was led by Karuturi Global with trades of over 3.31 million shares. It was followed by Amarjothi Spinning Mills (1.83 million), Cals Refineries (1.75 million) and Dazzel Confindive (1.43 million).
