Sensex trades up 89 points; Metal, CD, TECk rise

Indian markets continued to rally for the sixth day on Friday. At 10.01 am., the Sensex was trading up 88.69 points or 0.52% at 17,165.87 with 18 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 18.30 points or 0.35% at 5,176.60 with 30 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 124.15 points or 0.73% at 17,201.33, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 58.45 points or 1.13%, at 5,216.75.
Reliance Industries contributed rise of 24.42 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Infosys (22.08 points), Tata Consultancy Services (11.98 points), BhartiAirtel (8.77 points) and Hindalco Industries (8.31 points).
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts gaining 0.78% and 0.99% respectively.
The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were Alok Industries (1.52%), CORE Education and Technologies (1.09%), Amara Raja Batteries (0.99%), Alfa-Laval (India) (0.59%) and Aban Offshore(0.54%).
The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (8.6%), Aarti Industries (2.49%), Trident (1%), Aanjaneya Lifecare (0.7%) and Provogue (India) (0.2%).
The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were Alok Industries (1.52%), CORE Education and Technologies (1.09%), Amara Raja Batteries (0.99%), Alfa-Laval (India) (0.59%) and Aban Offshore(0.54%).
The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (8.6%), Aarti Industries (2.49%), Trident (1%), Aanjaneya Lifecare (0.7%) and Provogue (India) (0.2%).
