NSE NIFTY OPTION TIPS 17 JUL 2012


SENSEX GAINS 81 PTS; HEALTHCARE, REALTY RALLY

Indian equities continue to trade in the positive terrain amid mixed Asian cues. Healthcare and realty stocks gained ground. 
Sensex was trading up 81.29 points or 0.48% at 17,184.60 with 25 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 20.20 points or 0.39% at 5,217.45 with 37 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 73.62 points or 0.43% at 17,176.93, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 30.80 points or 0.59%, at 5,228.05.
Sensex Movers
I C I C I Bank contributed rise of 12.52 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Reliance Industries (10.48 points), Bharti Airtel (10.16 points), I T C (9.74 points) and Housing Development Finance Corporation (7.92 points).
However, Tata Consultancy Services contributed fall of 14 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.52 points), Wipro (1.39 points), Reliance Infrastructure (1.26 points) and Reliance Communications (0.58 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (2.33%), Dr Reddy`S Laboratories (2.26%), Bharti Airtel (2.11%), Hindalco Industries (1.35%), Cipla (1.08%), and Tata Motors (1.02%).
On the other hand, Tata Consultancy Services (1.62%), Bajaj Auto (1.37%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (0.65%), Wipro (0.53%), and G A I L (India) (0.39%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Mid and small caps underperformed their larger counterparts gaining 0.26% and 0.34% respectively.

The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were Alok Industries (1.45%), Aban Offshore (0.94%), Allcargo
Logistics (0.36%), A B G Shipyard (0.3%) and CORE Education and Technologies (0.19%).

The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were Trident (2.3%), Adhunik Metaliks (1.19%), Styrolution ABS (India) (0.9%), A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (0.78%) and A B G Infralogistics (0.03%).
Sectors in Limelight
The HC index was at 7,097.55, up by 101.50 points or by 1.45%. The major gainers were Cadila Healthcare (3.97%), Biocon (2.78%), Divis Laboratories (1.33%), Cipla (1.08%) and Aurobindo Pharma (0.9%).
The Realty index was at 1,708.40, up by 10.90 points or by 0.64%. The major gainers were Indiabulls Real Estate (1.23%), Housing Development and Infrastructure (1.04%), Godrej Properties (0.86%), Oberoi Realty (0.66%) and D B Realty (0.06%).
The FMCG index was at 4,922.84, up by 30.49 points or by 0.62%. The major gainers were I T C (0.6%), Dabur India (0.48%), Hindustan Unilever (0.45%), Colgate-Palmolive (India) (0.43%) and Jubilant FoodWorks (0.38%).
On the other hand, the IT index was at 5,206.94, down by 28.43 points or by 0.54%. The major losers were Tata Consultancy Services (1.62%), H C L Technologies (1.31%), Hexaware Technologies (0.31%), Tech Mahindra (0.25%) and Mphasis (0.07%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was negative with 1,214 advances against 961 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
Infosys topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 183.97 million. It was followed by Tata Motors (Rs. 172.05 million), State Bank Of India (Rs. 171.19 million) and United Spirits (Rs. 138.86 million).
The volume chart was led by Kingfisher Airlines with trades of over 1.78 million shares. It was followed by Vikas Wsp (1.37 million), Cals Refineries (1.03 million) and Spicejet (1.03 million).
