SENSEX TRADES UP 150 PTS; BAJAJ AUTO MAJOR GAINER

Indian equities continued to rally for the third day on Wednesday. Sensex was trading up 150.61 points or 0.87% at 17,508.55 with 27 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 41.05 points or 0.78% at 5,330.75 with 45 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 89.32 points or 0.51% at 17,447.26, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 31.00 points or 0.59%, at 5,320.70.
Sensex Movers
I C I C I Bank contributed rise of 13.05 points in the Sensex. It was followed by H D F C Bank (12.93 points), Tata Motors (12.4 points), State Bank Of India (9.75 points) and Tata Consultancy Services (9.46 points).
However, Infosys contributed fall of 12.09 points in the Sensex. It was followed by I T C (4.17 points), Reliance Communications (0.1 points), Grasim Industries (0.17 points) and Reliance Infrastructure (0.18 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Bajaj Auto (3.40%), Hindalco Industries (2.50%), G A I L (India) (2.29%), Tata Motors (2.01%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.94%), and Wipro (1.69%).
On the other hand, Infosys Technologies (0.84%), I T C (0.26%), and Coal India (0.03%) were the biggest losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The BSE Mid and small caps outperformed their larger counterparts gaining 1.13% and 0.96% respectively.

The major gainers in the BSE Midcap were Aban Offshore (1.52%), Alok Industries (1.01%), Alstom Projects India (0.92%), A I A Engineering (0.82%) and A B G Shipyard (0.32%).

The major gainers in the BSE Smallcap were Aarti Industries (5.55%), Aanjaneya Lifecare (2.87%), A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services (1.17%), INEOS ABS (India) (0.82%) and Trident (0.55%).
Sectors in Limelight
The Consumer Durables index was at 6,824.81, up by 133.74 points or by 2.00%. The major gainers were C.Mahendra Exports (3.93%), Whirlpool Of India (1.77%), Blue Star (0.73%), Bajaj Electricals (0.56%) and Gitanjali Gems (0.13%).
The Auto index was at 10,547.60, up by 176.07 points or by 1.70%. The major gainers were Bajaj Auto (3.4%), Ashok Leyland (1.36%), Hero Motocorp (1.06%), Bharat Forge (0.98%) and Exide Industries (0.11%).
The Realty index was at 1,852.67, up by 28.34 points or by 1.55%. The major gainers were Housing Development and Infrastructure (3.16%), Anant Raj Industries (1.56%), Sunteck Realty (1.06%), D L F (0.88%) and Godrej Properties (0.4%).
The Capital Goods index was at 10,305.55, up by 129.09 points or by 1.27%. The major gainers were Alstom Projects India (0.92%), A I A Engineering (0.82%), A B B (0.79%), BEML (0.77%) and Bharat Electronics (0.64%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was negative with 1,375 advances against 488 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
Escorts topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 379.87 million. It was followed by State Bank Of India (Rs. 207.09 million), Infosys (Rs. 170.00 million) and Housing Development and Infrastructure (Rs. 125.70 million).
The volume chart was led by Escorts with trades of over 4.89 million shares. It was followed by Cals Refineries (3.60 million), Spicejet (1.78 million) and R E I Agro (1.63 million).
