JEERA FUTURES EDGE HIGHER ON NCDEX

Jeera futures edged higher as speculators enlarged their position in the commodity amidst expectation of falling arrival, rising demand at the lower levels. However, exporters are reportedly waiting for the new crop for creating fresh demand in the mandis. Meanwhile, the better crop expectations from Gujarat and Rajasthan could be hampered by reports of adverse weather conditions in growing areas that could affect the productivity to some extent as per traders
The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 11940.00, up by 1.10% or Rs 130.00 from its previous closing of Rs 11810.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 1656 lots.
The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 12122.50, up by 0.39% or Rs 47.50 from its previous closing of Rs 12075.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 15174 lots on NCDEX.
