FREE NSE NIFTY TIPS


SENSEX GAINS 138 POINTS; HERO HONDA, MARUTI, SBI RALLY

Indian markets continue to trade on a firm note led by intense buying seen in banking, FMCG and auto stocks.
Sensex was trading up 137.85 points or 0.80% at 17,337.25 with 24 components gaining. Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 47.70 points or 0.91% at 5,274.55 with 39 components gaining.
The 30-share benchmark index, BSE Sensex opened with a gain of 77.47 points or 0.45% at 17,276.87, while the broad based NSE Nifty started with a rise of 19.90 points or 0.38%, at 5,246.75.
Sensex Movers
I T C contributed rise of 26.6 points in the Sensex. It was followed by I C I C I Bank (21.05 points), State Bank Of India (16.54 points), Reliance Industries (15.64 points) and H D F C Bank (12.75 points).
However, Infosys contributed fall of 10.19 points in the Sensex. It was followed by Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (6.67 points), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (3.59 points), Wipro (1.78 points) and D L F (1.75 points).
Biggest gainers in the 30-share index were Hero Honda Motors (2.31%), Maruti Suzuki India (2.29%), State Bank Of India (2.26%), Hindalco Industries (1.97%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (1.87%), and I T C (1.81%).
On the other hand, D L F (1.71%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.30%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (0.96%), Infosys Technologies (0.62%), Wipro (0.55%), and Jindal Steel & Power (0.51%) were the major losers in the Sensex.
Mid & Small-cap Space
The Midcap and Smallcap index rose 0.86% and 0.99% respectively.
Sectors in Limelight
The Bankex index was at 11,969.40, up by 180.56 points or by 1.53%. The major gainers were Canara Bank(2.46%), Bank Of Baroda (1.53%), Bank Of India (1.33%), H D F C Bank (1.09%) and Federal Bank (0.99%).
The FMCG index was at 4,625.84, up by 56.17 points or by 1.23%. The major gainers were Dabur India (3.89%), I T C (1.81%), Nestle India (1.53%), Hindustan Unilever (1.25%) and Colgate-Palmolive (India) (0.84%).
The Auto index was at 10,099.62, up by 114.04 points or by 1.14%. The major gainers were Ashok Leyland (2.59%), Apollo Tyres (1.39%), Exide Industries (0.91%), Bharat Forge (0.6%) and Bajaj Auto (0.13%).
On the other hand, the HC index was at 6,593.20, down by 32.48 points or by 0.49%. The major losers were Dr Reddy`S Laboratories (2.01%), Lupin (1.28%), Cadila Healthcare (1.25%), Opto Circuits (India) (0.59%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise (0.08%).
Market Breadth
Market breadth was negative with 1,683 advances against 955 declines.
Value and Volume Toppers
State Bank Of India topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 751.08 million. It was followed by Kingfisher Airlines (Rs. 341.47 million), Housing Development and Infrastructure (Rs. 303.12 million) and Max India (Rs. 275.30 million).
The volume chart was led by Kingfisher Airlines with trades of over 17.65 million shares. It was followed by Cals Refineries (12.41 million), Spicejet (7.80 million) and Prraneta Industries (3.79 million).
