Sensex briefly turns negative

MUMBAI: Indian markets gave up opening gains and briefly turned negative on Friday morning, as rising domestic interest rates and Greek woes curbed risk appetite.

At 9:24 a.m. (0354 GMT), the 30-share BSE index was up 0.1 percent at 18,004.73 points, with 24 components advancing. It had slipped 2.2 points briefly.

The 50-share NSE index was up 0.2 percent at 5,405.90.
